Hi to all!
My name is Mary Anne Salnitro. I am a housewife and mother of three kids; a boy and two girls. I have had different jobs like a cashier and even as a croupier at the casino, but I always had to stop and start again to take care of my kids.
Art and crafts have always been my passion. I have tried to paint when the kids where small and they used to go to bed, but that was it. Then I had my third child and I could not find time for me again.
And now I am finding myself starting again .
I am a very outgoing person. I like to dance and sing. I love to be happy, smile & make everybody else happy. I love to be surrounded by colors and music. Traveling is something which I like too, mostly London. There I always feel that I am at home, and UK is my favorite place to be since I have been there five times.
My wish in life to be a good wife, an excellent mother who can be their best friend too and to achieve my dreams.
Card Making was a hobby for me from since I can remember. No one taught me how to do it. It’s a gift that God gave me. When I was of a young age I used to spend hours drawing and making cards for the members of my family as a birthday gift. Even as I grew older and attended post secondary school and then I started working I always found myself drawing on a piece of paper and a bag of felt pens.
As I got married and had children I did not have much time left for me, but I used to find a little time to do a card to the most important people in my life. Then a couple of years ago I started doing a bit more for family members again.
It was May 2011 that got me going again. I did a card for my cousin which was going to get married, and her mum ; my aunty, told me to give it a try and maybe start selling them.
And so I did.On the 8th May 2011 I made my own profile on facebook and as soon as I posted just a few of the cards I did.... messages and orders started coming in. . The notifications and messages button started going crazy J I was very excited and I could not beleive my eyes. I have to say, that the start of my job or hobby – was always easy for me. And so from that day on, people kept on sending me friend requests and ordering cards from me.
My cards are all Handmade and they can be even personalized. Each and every one of them is made with love and passion. They all have a poem inside which is printed. They are made from lovely flowers, buttons, satin ribbons, butterflies, gems, embellishments and much more. They are not just a card but a small master piece. They are a gift in themselves. Everyone loves them, because I make them with all my love as if I was going to make them for me. I try to make them with different types of colored & patterned paper. Ideal to brighten anyone’s day.
So I started buying up paper, card stock, embellishments and all the tools needed. My husband came up with the idea to make a website and so I did.
I took the smallest place in the house which is under the stairs of the main entrance and I turned it into a workshop.
Then again one find day I had an idea to make felt owl keychains. I made loads of them and the first fair I took them with me they were all sold out. So I kept doing them at each fair and people just went crazy for them. I kept on inventing just small felt things – and the people kept on buying and buying. I have never in my life thought that I could end up like this. When I was still a young girl I remember that I used to sew little dresses for my dolls but to do soft toys.... even until until last year – it was a big thing for me to do.
Anyway... Then I decided to make these cute little owls a bit bigger and again a bit bigger. So I eneded up doing – owl keychains, medium sized owls and big ones too. And they all got sold out again.
I decided to start trying drawing out patterns myself as patterns are so expensive and so I did. I drew – I cut – I sew & stuffed – and I sold. People just loved what I was doing and so did I.
So now I am finding myself working 12-15 hours a day. Sometimes including weekends) doing cards, felt toys and felt names..... I try to do the best – anything that comes to my mind – Anything I can invent I DO!!
So now....Maybe you can try to imagine how my tiny workshop has turned out.
My mission is to paint the world in all different colours, make each day brighter than yesterday, bring a smile to everybody's faces and bring more joy to the people that need some more in their lives.
